Meet Kerry Nicholson - Founder & CEO of Strobe My Ride

Hi, I’m Kerry Nicholson, Founder & CEO of Strobe My Ride.

My path into emergency warning lighting didn’t start in eCommerce or distribution it started on the roadside, where visibility isn’t a feature, it’s survival.

Before founding Strobe My Ride, I served as a Constable and Highway Patrol Officer, responding to serious and fatal motor vehicle collisions, roadside emergencies, winter operations, and high-risk traffic incidents across Ontario. I witnessed firsthand how proper emergency warning lighting prevents secondary collisions, and how inadequate or non-compliant lighting puts workers, responders, and the public at risk.

After leaving policing due to PTSD, the mission never left me:
protect the people who work inches from live traffic every single day.

That frontline experience combined with years in fleet safety, collision investigation, and risk management is the backbone of Strobe My Ride.

Founded in 2022, Strobe My Ride was created to solve a recurring problem I saw throughout policing and fleet safety work:

After policing, I transitioned into Fleet Safety & Risk Management, most recently serving as Director of Fleet Safety & Claims for a major infrastructure organization. That role involved oversight of:

  • Heavy construction and snow removal equipment

  • Post-collision investigations

  • Regulatory compliance and risk reduction

The gap was clear:
