Terms of service

Strobe My Ride Terms of Service, Sale and Product Use

Effective date: August 24, 2026

These Terms of Service, Sale and Product Use (“Terms”) govern access to StrobeMyRide.ca (the “Site”) and the purchase, installation and use of products sold by Strobe My Ride (“Strobe My Ride,” “SMR,” “we,” “us” or “our”).

By accessing the Site, submitting an order or using a product purchased from Strobe My Ride, you agree to these Terms and the policies incorporated into them.

If you are purchasing on behalf of a company, fleet, government agency or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

1. Eligibility and Acceptable Use

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to place an order.

You may not use the Site or any product sold through it:

  • For an unlawful, fraudulent or unsafe purpose

  • To impersonate police, fire, emergency medical or other public-safety personnel

  • In a manner that infringes another party’s rights

  • To interfere with the operation or security of the Site

  • To submit false billing, shipping, authorization or identity information

  • To resell products while representing yourself as an authorized SMR dealer without written authorization

We may refuse or cancel an order, restrict access or decline service for lawful reasons, including suspected fraud, abusive conduct, payment concerns, prohibited use, product diversion or attempted unauthorized resale.

2. Product Information and Specifications

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate product descriptions, specifications, compatibility information, photographs, videos, pricing and availability.

Product photographs and videos may show:

  • Optional accessories

  • Different colour configurations

  • Prototype or pre-production products

  • Products installed in example vehicles

  • Lighting output that appears different because of camera exposure, ambient lighting or display settings

Colours, brightness and flash patterns may appear differently in photographs or videos than they do in person.

Manufacturers may make non-material changes to components, housings, wiring, connectors, packaging or specifications without changing the product’s primary function. If a material change affects an order, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the purchaser before fulfilment.

If we discover a material error in a product listing or order, we may correct the information, contact the purchaser for instructions or cancel and refund the affected item.

3. SMR Product Lines and Third-Party Brands

Strobe My Ride sells both SMR-branded products and products manufactured or supplied by third-party brands.

SMR-branded products may be designed, specified, configured, branded or quality-controlled by Strobe My Ride in Canada and manufactured by qualified overseas manufacturers.

Third-party products, including Feniex and ZZ2 products, are subject to their respective manufacturer specifications, availability, lead times and warranty terms.

Unless expressly stated in writing, Strobe My Ride is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Whelen Engineering, Federal Signal, SoundOff Signal or any other manufacturer whose products, systems or common mounting footprints may be referenced for descriptive compatibility purposes.

A statement that a product:

  • Uses a common mounting footprint

  • Can accept an external flasher

  • Can be connected to another control system

  • May physically fit in place of another light

does not mean that the product is manufactured, approved, certified or warranted by the referenced third-party company.

Compatibility with a third-party controller or system applies only where expressly stated for the specific product, variant and wiring configuration.

4. Compliance and Performance Claims

Compliance claims apply only to the specific product, variant, colour configuration, operating mode and test standard identified on the applicable product page or supporting documentation.

Not every product sold by Strobe My Ride is represented as meeting SAE J595, SAE J845, ECE R65, California Title 13, Ontario Book 7 or another technical or regulatory standard.

Terms such as “Class 1,” “SAE,” “compliant” or “certified” apply only where explicitly stated. A product meeting a technical performance standard does not automatically authorize every purchaser to install or operate it on a public roadway.

Product-line names such as Patrol, Fleet and Signal are SMR branding categories and do not independently establish a legal classification, certification or authorization.

5. Orders and Acceptance

Submitting an order is an offer to purchase. An automated order confirmation acknowledges receipt but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.

An order is accepted when we:

  • Confirm acceptance in writing;

  • Submit an applicable manufacturer-direct or special order to the supplier; or

  • Ship the order.

We may reject or cancel an order before acceptance because of:

  • Product unavailability

  • A material pricing or listing error

  • Payment authorization failure

  • Suspected fraud

  • Shipping restrictions

  • Regulatory or safety concerns

  • Quantity limitations

  • Supplier discontinuation

  • An inability to fulfil the requested configuration

If we cancel an order after payment has been collected, the affected amount will be refunded to the original payment method.

6. Pricing, Currency and Payment

Unless otherwise stated, prices displayed on StrobeMyRide.ca are in Canadian dollars.

Applicable taxes, shipping charges and any additional fees will be displayed or disclosed during checkout whenever reasonably determinable.

You agree to provide complete and accurate:

  • Billing information

  • Shipping information

  • Contact information

  • Payment information

  • Authorization or exemption information, where applicable

You are responsible for costs or delays resulting from incorrect information that you provide.

Payments are processed through Shopify-supported payment providers. Strobe My Ride does not directly retain complete payment-card information.

We may correct pricing errors before order acceptance. If an obviously incorrect price is discovered after payment, we may offer the corrected price or cancel and refund the affected item.

7. Shipping Promotions

Free-shipping offers apply only under the conditions stated with the promotion.

Unless otherwise expressly stated, the advertised Canadian free-shipping offer:

  • Applies only to eligible SMR Line products

  • Requires an eligible merchandise subtotal of at least $199 CAD

  • Excludes oversized products and locations subject to exceptional carrier surcharges

  • Does not apply to Feniex, ZZ2 or other third-party product lines

  • Cannot be exchanged for cash or combined with incompatible promotions

Shipping eligibility is calculated before taxes and after applicable discounts unless stated otherwise.

8. Shipping and Delivery

Delivery and processing timelines are estimates unless we expressly guarantee a date in writing.

Timing may be affected by:

  • Product availability

  • Supplier handling

  • Carrier delays

  • Weather

  • Labour disruptions

  • Customs processing

  • Incorrect addresses

  • Remote-area service

  • Events beyond our reasonable control

SMR Line products identified as stocked in Ottawa normally ship from Ottawa, Ontario.

Feniex products are manufacturer-direct products that normally ship from the United States and are not stocked at our Ottawa location.

ZZ2 products are generally sourced through Canadian warehouses and may require additional processing before shipment.

The shipping origin and timeline for an individual product may be described on its product page, quotation or order confirmation.

9. Delivery Problems and Risk of Loss

Strobe My Ride remains the customer’s point of contact for carrier loss or shipping damage until delivery is confirmed at the address supplied with the order.

After the carrier confirms delivery at the supplied address, responsibility for the package transfers to the purchaser, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing a complete and secure delivery address

  • Monitoring tracking information

  • Retrieving delivered packages promptly

  • Paying address-correction, redirection or reshipment costs caused by incorrect information

  • Obtaining permission to ship to third-party, commercial or government locations

Report shipping damage, missing contents or an incorrect product promptly in accordance with our Return, Refund and Warranty Policy.

Do not discard shipping boxes, labels, packaging or damaged products until the claim is resolved.

10. International Orders

Online checkout is currently intended primarily for Canadian delivery addresses. International dealer, fleet and special-order inquiries may be considered by prior arrangement.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, international purchasers are responsible for:

  • Import duties

  • Sales and value-added taxes

  • Brokerage fees

  • Customs-clearance charges

  • Import permits

  • Product admissibility

  • Local compliance and authorization

Import charges are not included in product or shipping prices unless expressly disclosed.

We are not responsible for delays caused by customs authorities or for products refused, abandoned or seized because the purchaser did not satisfy local import or authorization requirements.

Refused or abandoned shipments may be subject to the deductions described in our Return, Refund and Warranty Policy.

11. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations

Returns, refunds, cancellations, exchanges, final-sale products and warranty claims are governed by the current Strobe My Ride Return, Refund and Warranty Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Manufacturer-direct, special-order, custom, installed, powered, wired or modified products may be non-returnable.

Feniex orders become final sale once submitted to the manufacturer, except for shipping damage, an incorrect product, a confirmed defect or a right that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Installation and Electrical Safety

Vehicle warning lights are electrical products that require appropriate installation, circuit protection and maintenance.

Unless a product is explicitly described as consumer-installed or plug-and-play, professional installation by a qualified automotive electrical technician or upfitter is strongly recommended.

The purchaser and installer are responsible for:

  • Confirming vehicle compatibility

  • Selecting suitable wire sizes

  • Installing appropriate fuses and circuit protection

  • Confirming polarity and operating voltage

  • Protecting wiring from heat, moisture, abrasion and moving components

  • Ensuring secure mounting

  • Avoiding interference with airbags, vehicle sensors, safety systems and driver visibility

  • Confirming that the vehicle’s electrical system can support the load

  • Testing the finished installation safely before operational use

Instructions and technical support provided by Strobe My Ride are general guidance. They do not replace professional judgment, vehicle-specific service information or the installer’s responsibility to complete safe work.

Strobe My Ride is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect wiring, reversed polarity, excessive voltage, inadequate circuit protection, improper mounting, unauthorized modification or installation contrary to supplied instructions.

13. Legal Authorization and Restricted Lighting

Vehicle-lighting laws vary by country, province, state, municipality, vehicle type and intended use.

Products may include colours, flash patterns or operating modes restricted to:

  • Police

  • Fire departments

  • Emergency medical services

  • Tow operators

  • Roadside-service vehicles

  • Municipal or government fleets

  • Authorized construction, utility or maintenance vehicles

  • Other specifically authorized users

Strobe My Ride sells equipment. We do not grant, verify or imply legal authority to operate restricted lighting.

Purchasing a product does not authorize the purchaser to:

  • Use restricted colours or patterns

  • Impersonate emergency personnel

  • Claim emergency-vehicle status

  • Disregard provincial, state, municipal or federal requirements

  • Operate warning lighting on public roads without required authority

The purchaser is responsible for confirming the legality of the exact product, colour, pattern, mounting location and intended use before installation and operation.

General information supplied by Strobe My Ride about SAE standards, Ontario Book 7 or vehicle-lighting regulations is provided for informational purposes and is not legal advice.

14. Product Use and Assumption of Operational Risk

Warning lights can improve conspicuity, but they cannot eliminate roadside risk or guarantee that another road user will see, recognize or respond appropriately to a warning signal.

The purchaser remains responsible for:

  • Safe vehicle positioning

  • Scene protection

  • Traffic-control procedures

  • Required personal protective equipment

  • Proper driving and operating practices

  • Regular product inspection and maintenance

  • Replacing damaged or malfunctioning equipment

  • Following applicable workplace and roadside-safety requirements

Do not rely on any single warning light as the sole means of protecting a roadside worker, vehicle or work zone.

To the extent permitted by law, the purchaser assumes risks arising from the purchaser’s installation, modification, maintenance, selection and operation of the product.

15. Warranties

Product warranty periods and remedies vary by product line and manufacturer. The warranty stated on the applicable product page, written quotation or warranty document governs that product.

Warranty remedies may include:

  • Troubleshooting

  • Replacement components

  • Repair

  • Product replacement

  • Another remedy required by applicable law

Unless required by law or expressly stated in writing, a warranty does not guarantee a refund after a product has been installed or used.

Warranty coverage does not normally include damage caused by:

  • Incorrect installation

  • Incorrect voltage or reversed polarity

  • Missing or improper circuit protection

  • Unauthorized modification

  • Collision, abuse or physical impact

  • Improper maintenance

  • Water intrusion caused by installation

  • Use outside the product’s stated specifications

  • Vehicle electrical faults

  • Normal wear

Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory conditions, warranties or remedies that cannot legally be waived.

16. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Strobe My Ride will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential losses arising from the Site or a product, including:

  • Lost profits

  • Lost contracts

  • Loss of vehicle use

  • Business interruption

  • Towing or substitute-vehicle costs

  • Installation or removal labour

  • Missed operational opportunities

  • Losses resulting from unauthorized or unlawful product use

Where liability can legally be limited, Strobe My Ride’s aggregate liability arising from an individual product will not exceed the amount paid to Strobe My Ride for that product.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or other circumstances for which exclusion is prohibited.

17. Commercial Purchaser Indemnification

This section applies to purchasers acting for a business, fleet, dealer, installer, government agency or other commercial organization, to the extent permitted by law.

The commercial purchaser agrees to indemnify Strobe My Ride against third-party claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from:

  • The purchaser’s unlawful use of a product

  • Incorrect installation performed or directed by the purchaser

  • Unauthorized product modification

  • False representations made by the purchaser to its customers

  • Failure to provide appropriate warnings or instructions

  • The purchaser’s violation of applicable vehicle-lighting laws

This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Strobe My Ride’s own breach, negligence or conduct for which indemnification cannot legally be required.

18. Intellectual Property

The Site and its original content—including the Strobe My Ride name, SMR branding, logos, product-line names, photographs, videos, graphics, instructions and written content—are owned by or licensed to Strobe My Ride.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell or commercially exploit that content without written permission.

Third-party trademarks and brand names remain the property of their respective owners and are used only for identification, resale or descriptive compatibility where applicable.

Purchase of a product does not transfer ownership of associated intellectual property.

19. Customer Reviews and Submitted Content

If you submit a review, photograph, video, testimonial or other content to Strobe My Ride, you confirm that:

  • You created it or have permission to share it

  • It does not infringe another party’s rights

  • It is not false, unlawful, defamatory or misleading

  • It does not disclose confidential information without authorization

You grant Strobe My Ride a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and use the submitted content in connection with our Site, products and marketing, subject to applicable privacy law.

We may moderate or remove submitted content that violates these Terms, but we are not obligated to publish every submission.

20. Third-Party Services and Links

The Site may use or link to third-party services, including payment processors, review platforms, shipping providers, social-media platforms and manufacturer websites.

Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Strobe My Ride is not responsible for third-party websites or services outside our reasonable control.

A link does not necessarily constitute endorsement.

21. Privacy and Electronic Communications

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law.

By placing an order, you consent to receiving transactional communications required to process the purchase, including:

  • Order confirmations

  • Payment notices

  • Shipping updates

  • Compatibility or fulfilment questions

  • Safety, recall or warranty information

Marketing communications are subject to separate consent requirements and available unsubscribe options.

22. Force Majeure

Strobe My Ride is not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather or natural disasters

  • Fire

  • War, civil unrest or terrorism

  • Labour disruption

  • Carrier interruption

  • Customs delays

  • Government action

  • Tariffs or import restrictions

  • Supply-chain disruption

  • Manufacturer delay

  • Telecommunications or platform outage

This section does not remove any cancellation, delivery or refund right that applies under mandatory law.

23. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.

Subject to any mandatory consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes will be submitted to the courts located in Ontario.

Before beginning formal proceedings, the parties are encouraged to contact one another and attempt to resolve the issue in good faith.

24. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our operations, products, policies or legal obligations.

Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date.

Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively alter the agreed terms of a completed purchase unless:

  • The purchaser agrees;

  • The change benefits the purchaser; or

  • The change is required by law.

25. Severability, Waiver and Entire Agreement

If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.

These Terms, together with the applicable product listing, order confirmation, written quotation, Privacy Policy and Return, Refund and Warranty Policy, form the agreement between the purchaser and Strobe My Ride.

For an individually negotiated commercial or special order, the written quotation or agreement controls if it expressly conflicts with these general Terms.

26. Canadian Price Promise

The Canadian Price Promise applies only to an identical third-party branded product sold by Strobe My Ride and another authorized Canadian retailer.

To qualify, the competing product must have the same:

  • Manufacturer

  • Model or part number

  • Colour and configuration

  • Included components

  • Condition

  • Manufacturer warranty

The competing product must be:

  • New and genuine

  • In stock and available for immediate purchase

  • Publicly advertised in Canadian dollars

  • Sold by an authorized Canadian retailer

  • Available for delivery to the purchaser’s Canadian address

The comparison will consider the total delivered product cost, excluding sales tax but including mandatory shipping and fees.

The Price Promise excludes:

  • SMR-branded and private-label products

  • Marketplace, auction and classified-ad sellers

  • Unauthorized or international sellers

  • Used, refurbished, open-box or demonstration products

  • Clearance, liquidation and closeout pricing

  • Typographical or obvious pricing errors

  • Bundles with materially different contents

  • Coupon codes, loyalty rewards or targeted offers

  • Dealer, wholesale, government and negotiated contract pricing

A claim must be submitted before purchase or within seven calendar days after purchase, with a working link or other verifiable proof.

If the claim qualifies, Strobe My Ride will beat the eligible advertised price by $1 CAD or refund the verified difference plus $1 CAD.
